Returning 15-22 GARBAGE

get a ruger sr-22. I originally wanted the 15-22. When I picked it up I immediately noticed how ****ty of a gun it was. I picked up a ruger SR-22 and am verrrrrrrrrry verrrrry very happy with it.... If you have the extra funds, you might as well get a ar-15 with .22 upper...

The number one problem with FTE and FTL is how you load the magazine.
You must stagger the bullets.
My S&W worked great for over 1000 rnds of Federal EXCEPT when I rushed loading the mag.

Return a gun? How would you go about handling DROS? Is there paperwork involved in removing your ownership info from the gun?

What is OOB? I'm pretty sure I'll feel stupid when someone says it, but the only thing I can think of is either out of bounds or out of balance and none of those really make sense in the context. Nor was it mentioned in the acronym thread .

OOB means "out of battery" - meaning the round was not completely seated and went off before it should have. This can have dire consequences with larger rifle calibers, but can still cause some damage in a .22lr rifle.

Sorry to hear that. Mine is dtx and has been flawless and I want another one. All 22s have some issues including the gsg n sig. I'll take the mp anytime over those.

Wow-I got the newer ones and its great. What kind of ammo are you using? I hope not Remingtons. They shoot great with CCI mini mags and are ok with Federals bulk pack. I wonder if you got the older ones with the extractor issues. If so, you can send it back to S&W for a warranty fix...

Also this talk of blue springs, updated, etc is pure rubbish. There are people with "updated" and blue springs that are experiencing problems even after going back to S&W. Then there are those with no blue springs like me who have thousands of flawless rounds through them. I think just like with any gun there is a bad batch out there and then good ones. The main problem is the ejector and ammo used. Mine has silver springs manual with red star but what looks like an updated ejector. I know because of looks and shape. I only feed it federal bulk and winchester x per manual and its awesome. Don't know why people are so hyped up about the blue springs. Its probably the same spring that they just painted.

I agree, get a GSG-5. They are cheaper, and VERY reliable. No ejection issues. You can shoot crap ammo through it no issue.

Long guns aren't tied to you specifically. So when you return a rifle to a place like Big 5, you get something that says you returned that serial number and that's supposed to keep you in the clear should something happen down the road with somebody else and that weapon.

From what the supervisor told at Big 5 it's a painless process. Handguns I have no clue, I think just the fact that there's a 30 day wait indicates they are regulated more strictly.
