Just to throw a new flavor into the mix. For the price range of a 41 another option is a High Standard Trophy or a Victor. The Hamden made High Standard guns are hard to beat.

instead of drilling and tapping an older barrel buy a new one that is already done. Almost as cheap as a smith and preserves the older barrel to original.

Go for the 41. They hold their value, shot great, easy barrel change, accurate and reliable. What else would you want in a rimfire pistol?

Got both of mine in smokin' deals. First was a straight trade for a S&W 66 and the second with a holosight, two extra barrels (one a Clark custom) for $800!

Try the Hogue targets. I prefer them over the Herretts...

You got quite a bargain at $650. I expect the bids to come in over $975 even without a red dot.

I picked this up after checking out Gunbroker every few days for 2 months. It was from a pawn shop. Shipping was $30, and after DROS, $745 total. Good deals are out there, just have to be patient.

Guys what you see on Gunbroker are bids. A buy now price exist as does a reserve. Most of these are not sold but re-listed. Today $700 is a bargain. New retail is over $1200 and usually they go for $900 or so plus shipping and transfer plus the dros. I was one of the lucky ones. found one about a year ago LNIB with the box and even the original paper the gun and magazine came wrapped in for $640 plus tax and dros. Haven't been even close to a deal like that as I am always looking for a second 41.

They are beautiful.

I personally do not feel they're any better than a MkII at the range, and an ugly cast-aluminum Pardini is even better.

But if you are the average shooter, the beauty of it, the fact that it's American-made, and the sheer feel of it will make you pay extra attention to your sight alignment and followthrough and you'll swear it's a magic gun.

While opinions vary the 41 is a smoother higher quality gun than the Ruger's I have two MKII's 5.5" SS bull barrel and a 6 7/8 SS slabside comp target. Both with VQ accurizing kits and grips and while they shoot as well fit and function lacks. of course they are half the price so I guess that does it for some. Out of a gun vise my 41 out shoots both my Rugers including taking into consideration ammo that best suits the gun. But I still get outshot by Rugers in my Monday night bullseye league.
