You like shooting .22LR too?

I'm a big fan of the .22LR cartridge. It's got almost no recoil, very quiet, accurate guns are relatively cheap, don't have to walk too far to change targets, accurate ammo is also relatively cheap, can't reload (perfect for lazy people like me to even out the odds), and the list goes on and on.

I didn't start off liking the .22LR; more accurately, I have no opinions on it since I never shoot it. For the longest time, I didn't own any .22LR pistols or rifles. It was quite accidental that I started shooting it.

So why do you like shooting .22LR and what got you into the it?

I got into it a number of years ago, because a friend of mine has a cabin in the Sierras, and we would go hiking/hunting with our .22 rifles.

They are light to carry, and you don't need ear plugs when you shoot them. This was back when Federal 550 packs were $8.99 at Walmart.

Got love the cost, only 3-4 cents/round for the cheap bulk packs & 6-8 cents/round for good stuff like CCI "Mini-mags" or match ammo.

My only complaint is the clean-up after, because I spend twice as long cleaning a 22lr over a 223/308. But that is probably because I can shoot more 22lr in one session then 223/308 in a few months.

I like it, I just picked up a S&W M&P 15-22, and I have a Marlin 60 and a Savage 93 in .22 WMR. Cheap, fun shooting without breaking the bank.

Looking to get a Ruger 10/22 next when finances allow.

I just got started shooting .22LR bullseye pistol using an S&W model 41 with a red dot (don't know which). It's addictive and a whole lotta fun! At the end of the evening I put four out of five shots in a grouping smaller than a quarter at 50' in the poker target.

My first rifle was a 22lr. I have been shooting 22's since I think 5th grade. I thinks its a fun round to shoot. I like the cheaper ammo, I like that I can shoot a tacticool 22 and then my AR without much change, I can say all these things and others, but the thing is I just like the round.

I like it for all the reasons stated....it's cheap and I feel good not breaking the bank every time I go to the range....been shooting my gsg-5 for a few months and kinda enjoy it more than shooting my AR (sometimes......)

you get to shoot a lot without the recoil beating you up.

working with a quality bolt action with really help your shooting when you take your CF hunting/long range rifle out

i have a .22lr conversion kit on my Sig 226ST and it lets me get in a lot of practice with the exact trigger and controls of a gun i want to get good with.

the .22lr cartridge is accurate enough to point out any mistakes you are making with your trigger control...i try to stay with as high a quality round as i can afford. that doesn't mean i'm always shooting my Wolf MT in my Anschutz, but i usually don't go cheaper than CCI MiniMags

Ahhhhhh yes, I remember fondly the $8.99 550 pack days..... ahhhh yes... it doesn't seem like it was that long ago either.

My first rifle was a .22LR, Marlin 60. I saved money until I had the 69 dollars plus tax. I now have two pistols and two rifles that I shoot all the time for fun and the ammo is still cheap compared to my other guns. Always have more fun with the plinkers at the range.

I like it because it just plain makes me a better shooter.. I really like shooting 100-250 yards with it. Makes my long range shooting with my .223 and .308 a breeze. All the same rules apply, just at a fraction of the cost.

I have just recently fallen in love with rimfire shooting again, and it's fun!
