I have a Ciener 1911 conversion kit. It is reliable, not ammo sensitive, fairly easy to install/remove. It isn't super accurate.

It is in excellent condition w/ 2 15-rnd mag kits, and $215 shipped

Would that kit even be CA legal with the 15 rounders???

I love my AA conversion, second best investment I have made. I have shot over 5000 rounds through it. Definitely prefers CCI Mini Mags, most of the bulk value pack ammo wont cycle it.

I picked up one of the Kimber conversions when they were on sale at MidwayUSA. Accuracy is fine for plinking, and chances are I'm the limiting factor, not the conversion kit. Maintenance is no more difficult than maintaining the stock .45ACP slide assembly. Can't speak to mag availability since I only currently have the one mag that came with the kit, but IIRC Midway had additional Kimber mags on sale at the same time that they were running the sale on the conversion.

Thanks for the added info, I never "pulled the trigger" on this, but maybe soon if I could just sell something to fund it.

Have you tried Remington Golden Bullets bulk pack 525/550 rnds? Both my G17(6ks+ of GB) & 1911 (1ks+ of GB) AA kits loves the Rem GBs. My brother's G17 kit for some reason shoots the Fed 550 brn/red box without any issues, go figure

Just get a GSG-1911 for $300...solves the whole problem, and it's MUCH more reliable.

Shrek Uno Problemo GSG-1911 is not on the roster for sale in PRK so we're @$$ed out as usual for now, unless you have a cop friend that bought one and would sell it to ya.

My vote is for the Marvel reworked AA Target. I have an older Marvel Unit 1 that is fantastic. Very reliable with anything I've fed it,easy to switch on and off, no special maintenance, and very accurate as well. I would love to have the slide lock feature that the new AA's have though. Some day I'm going to sack up and pocket my slide for a steel insert like they do.

Which of these conversion kits will lock the slide back on the last round?

                            Ditto that.

                            Here's my write up.

I shot the Tactical Solutions a couple of weeks ago with Remington Golden Bullets after a hundred rounds or so of CCI Mini Mags. I had an occasional failure for the slide to lock back, but it only happened when my 10 year old son was shooting it. The magazines also are inserting easier into the magwell with more frequent use.
