This cartridge is good at surgically separating guts from the rest of the squirrel. The squirrel usually does not survive the operation.

I like this caliber. It is very fast. I bought a whole case of ammo at the Turners when I bought the Ruger 77/17 rifle.

@ 200y with no wind. It's my go to round if I have to kill anything under 100lbs. Head shots every time. Your going to love it.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

I have a savage in .17hmr. I have hit clays at 200yds, and have drop two yotes with it. Its a great rifle.

I just wish that someone sold primed .17 HMR cases and bullets separtely! Imagine what kind of accuracy we could get out of these rigs if we could roll our own ammo instead of trying to find what our rifles like and hoping for a consistant batch!!

Hell I'd be satisfied if someone like Eley came out with a target round in .17

Hey look, a sales rep from Cabela's signed up.

I found 10 box cases of .17 at Midway for $120 something, but Walmart sells boxes for $12.50, so why bother?

I just got 10 boxes of Hornady 17 gr 17 HMR from an online supply house and total cost for the 10 boxes plus shipping was slightly less than $115. That sure beats Walmarts $12.99 + sales tax price.

Probably have to get more. I have another 17 HMR on the way, due Friday, and I need to stock up on ammo for it.
