New scope for 50 yards and under

looking for a new scope for 50 yards and under. would like to take it althe way down to 10 yards. this is going to be for paper punching and plinking.

i might want to take the thing out to about 200 yards, so an AO/Parallax of 10yards-infinity is a must. i have no particular leaning towards a particular brand. i use EoTech on my AR and a standard bead on my 12ga

price range is about 300$

got some answers that might help make a suggestion:

1. AO versus non-AO requirements.
would like an AO of 10yards to infiniti range will be about 10 yards to 100 yards(maybe 200 on rare times)
2. Size and weight requirements.
doesnt matter this is not competition
3. Reticule type requirements
would like mils but a standard duplex would be more than adequate
4. Budget (you already stated that)
bumping to about 300$
5. If AO, then do you want front AO or SF?
front or side doesnt matter, my previous scope on a springer was front AO
6. FIXed power versus Variable requirements?
haha idealy 1-50 HAHA but really about 4-30 range but 3-12 or even 4-16 would be more than adequate i think
7. Is vendor warranty/service important and are you willing to pay a premium.
i am not tied to a specific vendor.
8. Any eye relief requirements?
none, had laser surgery so no more glasses!!!
9. What power or power range or field of view (FOV) requirements?
about 4-30 range but 3-12 or even 4-16 would be more than adequate i think FOV should be plenty to see paper and plinking targets.

Go either with Burris, or Nikon (maybe Bushnell). Timberline 4.5-14x32, Fullfield II 3-9x40 or Prostaff, Buckmasters would be more than enough, and around $200 or less $$$, if you are looking for a new scope for 50 yards and under. If you are looking for a big/huge scope go with Barska Excavator, or SWAT, they are decent quality, and does not break your bank.

WEAVER V16. got one on my cz452. IMO the weaver is better then the bushy 4200 i have on my tikka. But every set of eyes are different. Either way the weaver is a SOLID option

Go to wal-mart. They have a 3-9 scope by Center Point (I believe) with mil dot reticle for like $50.

I am no scope expert, but I put a Walmart Center Point 4-16x40mm scope on my AR22 and like it a bunch.

It meets all of your listed desired characteristics without even exceeding $80. Plus, it comes with scope covers, lens cleaning cloth, and batteries for the illuminated reticule.

Let's see if I can remeber some specifics. It has the following:

-4-16 x 40mm
-illuminated mil dot reticule (reticule can be left turned off); red or green
-Adjustable Objective; it focuses all the way down to 5 yards, at least during my checkout of this scope things were crystal at that distance
-Scope Rings (i did not use the provided rings, went with an American Defense mount)
-I guess they are Target Turrets
-Generous eye relief, though this is my first scope so I have nothing to compare it too. It's about 3-4 inches.

This was the Adventure Class model which was about $70 or so before taxes. They do have a smaller model which is labeled as AR22; it costs about $50. Again, it's from Walmart so if you have any problems, you can take it back plus pick up some ammo while you are there.

For me, it came down between this scope and a Meuller. I went with this because of the Mil Dots. I knew if I wasn't pleased I could get my money back without any shipping and waiting. Plus, this comes with a year warranty and no "if scope has been mounted, we cannot refund" b.s.

My scope has been flawless so far. I recommend you hit Walmart soon before the word gets out on these. There were positive and negative reviews of this scope on Walmart's website. We give it 4 thumbs up. I may pick another one up soon cause my kid hogs the darn rifle at the range.

i gave one of these a test run, but it was too big for my application (too long)
was amazed how well made for the price & the optics appeared to be similar to nikon 200+$$ scopes. also amazed @ the mostly positive owner reviews
all over the net
it focused as close as 4 yds
the lowest light setting still seemed brightish but you can also leave the bulb off

I got the same scope.

Make sure to take the allen wrench that came with the scope to the range with you.

i ended up getting an 8-32x50 mueller with AO 10-infinity.

i mounted it using some really crappy warne rings. elevation i got plenty of room bot for windage i am cranked almost to one side. i need to get some medium 30mm rings with weaver bases that can be adjusted for windage.

i took it out and was at .185" accuracy at 25yds

so not to shabby. set me back 330bones with shipping
