    My trainer is finally done!!

Guess what showed up today finally??? My McMillan A5 for my Sako Quad WOOOHHOOOOO! I love it!! My trainer is finally done!!! The inleting is nice and tight! Heres the specs

    .22lr Lilja match barrel
McM A5 %75 OD and %25 Blk, Sniper fill, flush cups on left side
    Larry Gish Trigger
    Rimfire Tech T/G
    Rimfire Tech 20moa base
    Rimfire Tech Tactical bolt handle
    Falcon Menace FFP mil/mil 4-14x44
    Seekins 30mm rings
*heres the confusing one that im sure is making you guys scratch your heads *
I took an 10rnd M1A mag and cut the feed lips off... i then notched the front of the mag so that my finger could reach inside to hit the release button. I took one of my 10rnd sako mags and made some shims to center the M1a mag out under the stock and epoxied the shims and M1A mag over it. Yes its just for looks... no i dont care if you think its a lame mod. I LIKE IT AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS!!! I have 4 other mags i'll use for my primary shooting needs

I have been shooting in the matches at my club (corona sportsmens club) for the last few months and winning with this rifle. It has been timed stages with no round count limit and im shooting up against semis w/ hi caps. I still have managed to fend them off so far. Its a really heavy gun now so i might have to step up to the big boy matches where the stages are timed but still have a round count limit. This thing won't be fun to shoot off hand anymore and im not interested in shooting against guys that are hitting 6 out of the 30 shots they fire in 15 seconds when i was hitting 6 of only 8 fired. Enough talk... heres the pics!!

          Nice Job!

I thought about doing something similar with a my CZ 453 Varmint but haven't gotten enough nerve to spend the time and cash. You may have inspired me to finally put it together and shoot one of those matches...they look like a blast.

How well does it group at 100 yards and what ammo has worked best for you?

I haven't shot yet with the A5 because i just got it today but before when it was in the cheap flimsy factory stock i could put 20 shots inside of a dime. So far the Eley Match has been the best which is what its chamber is cut for but its expensive for my taste. It shoots SK/wolf, Aguila Rifle match really well and it will group Fed bulk better then any rifle ive ever handled

Nice scope, I have the same one on my .22 savage

Out of curiousity does your windage knob look like this?

Your scope is a MOA scope. Mine counts in Mils but yes it counts in both directions just like that. I find it a much simpler way of adjusting since mine counts to 3mils from both directions and i generally dont dial much more then 3mils ever for windage.

Wow, if this is your "trainer" I'd *love* to see your serious business rifle.

                            Oh, and I hate you.

And by 'hate' I mean 'am extremely jealous of'.
