Rimfire .22LR Rifle Scope - suggestions?

Does anyone have a scope recommendation for a .22LR semiautomatic rifle?

Also, to what extent are scope rings an important part of the equation on a rimfire?

How much are you looking to spend on the scope? Does your rifle have provision for mounting a scope base, or does it have the 3/8th inch rimfire scope grooves cut into the receiver?

Mueller APV.

Rings don't really matter however I'm sure many will disagree, the $20 dollar leupold rings work just fine.

I use a Bushnell "Rimfire" scope, 3-9 power, with a 32mm Objective lense. I got it on sale from Midway USA for about 35 bucks and it works great with my marlin 925R witch is a bolt action, but i'm sure it would work just as good on a semi-auto. It also comes with standard rimfire rings for the grooves cut into the reciver of many .22 LR rifles.

I have ben using an Intensity brand 3x10 for awhile now on one of my .22's. Very nice scope, good glass. Just bought another two Intensity's from Sportsmans Guide. They are on sale now for $49. IMO, a well built and affordable scope.

I've been using a CenterPoint 3x9x32mm on my Marlin 795 and it's a great scope for the money. Bought it at Walmart, if you have any problems you can exchange it locally. Haven't used it for shooting, but the illuminated reticle is kinda cool.

+1 on the Bushnell rimfire. I have a fixed 4x one that works great with my Marlin 60.

With optics you pretty much get what you pay for in terms of clarity and brightness. Also depends on if you want variable power, adjustable objective, illuminated reticle, etc. Light conditions you will be using it in are important for objective size (low light=bigger objective). Ring design not critical on rimfires.

The Mueller APV is a fantastic scope for the price. Great for a rimfire. I have one, my buddy has one, and many shooters on rimfirecentral.com have them to.

I ordered a Bushnell Rimfire for my new 10/22 will post comments when I've had a chance to shoot. I have a vintage Weaver K4 and Redfield 3X9 on my other two.

gotta say mueller apv for the price this scope is great, I have taken out ground squirrels at 250yards with the tactical solutions 15moa rail without a problem.
Would not change a thing.

I have the same scope on my 10/22 and couldn't be happier with it.

+1000 on the Mueller APV. Supposedly designed from the ground up for use on the 10/22, w/ the ability to focus down to rimfire ranges. A fantastic scope for the money. I have one on my Marlin 60 and one on my Savage .223 bolt as well.

Only thing I'd say about rings/mounts is that on rifles w/ dovetails, sometimes the semi-auto action causes the rings to creep back. Some people solve this problem w/ a little blue loctite and tighter torque. Didn't work for me, so I ended up buying a www.bkltech.com dovetail mount/ring combo.

ill throw my hat in for barska. they make some good scopes, for low cost. i mean, its not for a weapon to save my own life with, just to have fun. but my barska 17 hasnt come off zero for over a year, and it goes in and out of the truck, and dragged through the bush quite a bit... gonna try one on a centerfire in the next month or so...
