Ruger 10/22 Takedown screw

The takedown bolt is a 12-24 . You can find these in a hex head cap screw at your better hardware stores.

There are a number of ways to relieve the threads like on the factory ones.

I just chucked the head in a drill and used a file to knock them down. Worked fine.

Good stuff if you cant wait for someone to ship on to you. Doesn't seem to hard. For those who loose one I guess it's, Homedepot here we come

This is what I was going to try but I couldn't not find the 12/24 in the right length at any of the hardware stores by me. All is good now though the new one came yesterday so its off to Angeles Saturday!!
