I was thinking of buying one telling the seller to ship with no magazine.. Going to Reno getting a 25 rnd. and modify my self to fit 10 rnds...

Maybe i should just go get all the mags and modify for all other Calgunners..
Is that legal?

When you guys do get these you'll be very happy. I've had my M&P 15-22 for a few weeks now and the more I shoot it the more I like it. I jumped on the Colt/Umarex bandwagon as soon as they became available and it proved to be accurate and reliable. But the Smith & Wesson totally outclasses it, it is a much better design, more accurate and has a better trigger. The only thing the Colt M4 has going for it is that it looks more like an M4. When the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22s become available in California they will outsell the Colts by a wide margin. It is just a better gun.

I was looking at the Colt today at Turners. Looks good, feels good...then you open it Not what I expected...for a $500+ weapon of any caliber.

Comparing the two - Colt to S&W - does the M&P have the look, feel and functionality of a real weapon - if that makes sense? Could you share any pics of the M&P openned up...

Don't see how it would be. You're not buying them out of state to resell them as high caps in California.

If I can't get anyone to send me a M&P15-22 I'll be going with a GSG-5 or tactical dressed up 10/22.

Thats why I bought my GSG-5 SD, matter of fact, I am gonna head over Turners and pick it up!

One of the reasons I want it over the GSG. The Zairsoft rail is an extra $62+shipping

Yea I waited another 10 days and got one that passed the kushmaster test

dude I was so excited, I stayed up all night working on upgrades, mods and accessories. I slept at 6:30 A.M.

You can FFL Transfer one if you can find it but it wont come with any mags, you got to wait for the 10 rounds mags to come out with the compliant model, or find someone nice enough to limit the mags and then send it over.

the second option is the hardest but the quickest, but if you can wait, just wait for the factory mags 10 round mags to come out in a few months.

Has anyone either handled or fired Smith & Wesson's new M&P15-22 rifle? I just read an article in Shooting Times and this thing sounds like a winner!

they have them at gun runners in duarte. i got to handle it extensively this weekend and have to say that this platform seems fantastic. by far a better .22 than the colt and a hell of a lot lighter and easier to handle than the GSG series. best of all it functions as a real AR would, so you can absolutely practice drills with it. if i were to get a "toy" AR, this would be it.
