I am pretty sure that all eofakes do not use holographic technology. It would be too expensive and complicated to replicate and sell. I've looked inside the eofakes, and it is actually a repackaged red dot tech inside a replica EOTech body. I've also looked at the real deal from the windows, and it is very different. The real deal has a bunch of mirrors and beam splitters inside that make up the true holographic image of a reticule, which are visible by looking down through the sight window, while the fakes have have some sort of plastic plate and masked LED.

So if any of the airsoft sites or dealers claim that the fakes clone the "holographic technology", take your money elsewhere. Performance wise, the EOTech is obviously superior, and the reticule is the correct 65MOA ring with the 1MOA dot with 4 tick marks on the ring. The fakes have the same looking reticule, but I noticed that the gap between the 1MOA dot and the inner edge of the 65MOA ring is smaller, which is probably due to the limitations of red dot LED tech. The fakes should be fine for a 22LR range toy.

Also, if you buy an EOfake, remember to take out the batteries after you're done shooting, as the "Off" setting does not work properly and often times drains it. Also, there are clones of C-More Sights available, so you might want to look into that.

Budget-minded shooters seem to like the Primary Arms red dots, even though they aren't holosight clones.

As far as a .22 goes, this red-dot sight looks pretty good for the money: http://www.amazon.com/Sightmark%C2%9.../dp/B000W4BQ7K
I saw a vid on youtube and the reticule actually looks very bright. It also looks like that same sight is sold under at least a couple different brand names.

I wonder if I could also find a decent, low-priced magnifier to mount in front of it?

It's funny, I'm usually the type of person who is willing to pay the premium for something that is high quality. But, when it comes to a .22, I think the cost:benefit ratio allows you to get away with buying the cheap stuff.

I have not ordered from that site, nor have I ever held or used the C-More clone, so I cannot speak for the quality of the product, the customer service, or whether it could hold it's zero or not. It is a new product, so finding reivews on this clone isn't easy. There are many colors available on the page.

On the other hand, since the C-More design is really simple and relies on lock grub screws to hold its zero on the real deal, so if they replicated that on the clone, it should be good to go. Compared to the EOfakes, it should be better since lots of EOfakes have shotty quality control, battery draining issues, ghosting/ double reticule problems, zeroing issues, and is absurdly complicated since it uses red dot technology coupled with bad QC. There isn't much to go wrong with the CMore clone, except maybe the battery life, screws, and switches.
