Legal action is over.
H&K won.
GSG is no longer producing the GSG5, ATI is no longer importing the GSG5 and ATI can not sell any GSG5s in stock after Q1 2010.
After the case was settled, H&K licensed Umarex to make .22LR MP5, .22LR HK416 & .22LR MP7 clones.sigpic

The MP7 could be made as both a CA-legal pistol (no stock) or a CA-legal rifle (w/ barrel extension of some sort). I don't know what they're making but I assume it includes a pistol version.
Both of those would be nice, especially the USC.Comment

GSG is certainly still producing the GSG 5. Just not importing to the USComment

Here is the H&K licensed Umarex MP7.
UMAREX holds the worldwide exclusive HK-trademark and exterior design copy license for use with this UMAREX product, granted by HK, Inc., U.S.A.

The MP7 would be great...in a free state.
Even if you ditched the stock in order to make it a pistol, you would also have to lose the forward VFG. What you're left with is a big clunky .22 that somewhat resembles the original firearm. No thanks.MY AR Profile #1Comment
