    Good 22lr revolvers

Looking to add one to my collection.
Any suggestions? I want to keep it under $200-250ish
I really don't care about the action but i'm seeing single action is most common.

I heard Heritage Arms are some what cheaply made?

With some shopping you might find a Ruger Single Six in that price range. I have one and it's a good gun.

Heritage and Rough Rider are fun shooters, but the quality isn't up to the Single Six. The SS is getting harder to find in that price range, though.

There are DA .22 revolvers in that price range used, but most of them aren't that great - High Standard Sentinel is decent but not great, while Arminius, Rohm, H&R are not so good.

If you're in a hurry, the Heritage/Rough Rider style will do the trick until you find something better. Otherwise, keep an eye out for a reasonable Single Six.

I've got a Taurus 9-shot .22 in stainless. Not sure of the model. It's quite nice but takes a while to clean all those cylinders.

+1 on an S&W. The ten shot 617 is a nice piece, even if it does have that silly internal lock. It's above your price range for the moment, but they are well worth it.

Otherwise scour the consignment cases for a Ruger Single Six. Great value for the money.

You can get a Single Six or Rough Rider/EAA with both cylinders - one for .22 short/long/long rifle, and one for .22 magnum. It's best to buy them as a set, as it can take some fitting if you buy a spare cylinder separately.

These are definitely the most accurate .22s in the OP's price range. You can get a Taurus, High Standard, etc, with a little looking around, but they're not nearly as accurate as the Single Six. A SW 17/617 would be a fine gun, but will cost 2-3x as much.

The USFA 12/22 is really cool.

Does anyone know if its 12-rounds capacity is CA legal?

                              Regards,
