They are built on an SAR2 receiver so it would be possible to build into a centerfire AK. It would just be a lot of work and not worth it. But to answer your question, yes!

Can WASR-22 be converted to shoot centerfire rounds then? Say swapping a barrel and other associated parts?? Not that I wan to do try it but just wondering....

Why not just get a CMMG .22lr conversion kit for $180 that takes about 10 seconds to convert back and forth between .22lr and .223, instead of an airsoft grade gun for $500 that only shoots .22lr?
