help me choose a dedicated 22 upper for an Ar15

My first .22 build. it will be a dedicated 22. I have tried to do research on the available uppers and found Spikes, tactical solutions and CMMG are the names that come up alot.

I want a 16" carbine style et up.

Are there any positves or negatives to the 3 brands I have listed. I have read mixed reviews on all of them. Some people swear by spikes but others reported problems. I guess all have some problems here and there but I am looking for the most reliable

My Spikes Tactical Dedicated upper has been flawless. It does however like the Federal ammo more than any other brand (accuracy wise anyway).
I got the 16" with Spectre rail with military profile barrel. Sorry I don't have any experience with the CMMG or tactical solutions.

I have the model 1 sales upper 2000 rounds,and no problems,unless you try to use Remingtons . it will not chamber those round .

Spikes is over-rated. Tried both the CMMG and spikes, and CMMG is just as good for $200 less and comes with BD mag.

Aloha selling CMMG + mag for $450. Great deal. I haven't tried Model 1 or Tacsol, but I hear great things about TacSol.

I second that, for about the same price range Tactical Solution is much more accurate than any spike or cmmg setup.

Wow, $1024 for an 22 upper and the bolt doesnt hold open after the last shot. I would like to see one in person but so far I like the machining on the TacSol the best.

I know that the Spike's Tactical dedicated upper has a .22 rimfire barrel and chamber. Are the other dedicated uppers designed the same way? I've been to their websites, but you can't really tell because they show you the outside of the upper.

I have two M261 .22 conversions, and they have a chamber insert that looks like a .223 cartridge. The CMMG, JA Ceiner, and Spikes conversions also have the chamber insert. I just don't think these chamber inserts can be as accurate as a dedicated upper.

If I buy a dedicated AR upper, I want the barrel and chamber to be like the Spike's tactical dedicated upper. My Umarex/Walther/Colt M4 has a similar design.

I have had nothing but good flawless experiences with the Spike's Tactical dedicated .22lr upper (with a .22lr barrel, not the chamber insert) with BDM magazines, and Federal bulk pack ammo.

I have a CCMG upper... it looks and is built to the same quality as a 5.56 upper.. with wasp coating and everything.
