    17hmr semiautomatics?

Does anyone know what other semis, either pistol or rifles, chambered for the 17hmr? Outside of the Excel Arms are there others?

Why are these not available in CA?

i wonder if you can convert a 10/22 magnum to shoot 17 hmr. either way, 10/22 magnums are no longer in production so its a moot point.

actually the excel arms 17HMR 1911 conversion would be CA legal since its just a kit. but I know you ask for others besides excel arms so I am not telling you anything new.

Yes, there are conversions available. I believe you need a new/heavier bolt and then just a barrel.

Yep, there are a couple of HMR conversions for the 10/22 Magnum. Only problem is finding the rifle. They pop up occasionally on Gunbroker for reasonable prices.

I have been keeping an eye on 10/22 magnums cus I would love to get one but the prices have been too high since they are hard to come by. Wish ruger would start making them again and maybe even offer a 17HMR version from the factory. I think that would be a great CA rimfire rifle since it will have all the aftermarket parts of the normal 10/22 to make a sweet tactical rifle with all the evil features

I have a Remington M-597 in 17 HMR. These rifles have a bad rep but mine shoots great.

Magnum Research used to, but it looks like they just pulled them. They issued a warning 7/15/09 that says that some lots of 17HMR can cause issues with their rifles.

V makes a bunch of them. They have many different models.

I just pre ordered a AR upper in .17HMR from Alexander Arms as well. They quoted me around 8 months until production. Best thing is they won't charge anything until it ships. Just have to be patient.

Hey guys, I just posted a recall notification on Remington .17 HMR ammo with any semiauto and the 597 specifically - check the subforum post, Remington says stop using the 597 immediately.

Oh duh, that's right. I totally blanked the roster.
