Ruger Mark IV Preferred Ammo

Out here the shelves at all Walmarts are overflowing with this ammo at $20/325. A few have it at $17.95. I refilled my 27 gallon totes with them since the shortage ended.

There is a possibility that your extractor has a burr or is cut wrong.
I would suggest replacing the extractor with either a Volquartsen or Tandemkross one.

That should eliminate your issues.

I am assuming you mean the whole trigger group, including sear, hammer, blast shield, etc.

If not, get the Volquartsen kit, better buy

I also recently picked up a Mark IV and ran through ~500 rounds of Aguila CPHP, Norma TAC-22, and a bunch of Federal Champion without issue.

The next range trip, I used Federal Automatch and was getting duds, 1-2 out of every magazine. Went home, gave it a clean and the following range trip had a couple of stovepipes but all rounds fired. I'm guessing that I had some built-up grime that was causing light primer strikes.

The official Volquartsen eBay store has an OEM bolt with their upgraded firing pin and extractor pre-installed for $45 shipped. The cost itself for the Volquartsen bolt tune-up kit (firing pin and extractor) is around $40 already.

I will also vouch for the Volquartsen Accurizing Kit, I believe you can run any aftermarket trigger if you prefer the flat trigger shoe of the Tandemkross.

I had Ruger Mark II for more than 30 years, it takes all kind of ammo and never has any hick-up. If I was you I will do:
(1) Go to the range which has Ruger Mark IV for rent, then rent it and used their magazine ONLY, that eliminate the magazine issue. If you have friend has Mk II then you can borrow the Mk II magazine and HOLD IN PLACE while shooting (those two have difference magazine release mechanical).
(2) New Volquartsen or Tandemkross extractor.
(3) The Magazine Release do not hold the magazine in the "proper" place.
If these don't solve your problem then I don't know.
