    Bear Creek Armory 17HMR

Finally took the Bear Creek 17HMR upper to the range couple of weekends ago. I got the 20" stainless barrel upper. Built up a poly lower I had sitting in the safe as I figured it could hold up to a rimfire (even a hot one). Had a couple of misfeeds at first but after that ran like a top. Blew out the Shoot N C target at 25 yds once I got the Tru-Dot scope zero'ed; unfortunately I ran out of time to take it out to 50 / 100. Other than the cost of the ammo, I love this thing. No recoil whatsoever and reliable ejection to 3:00. And I saw no signs of overpressure with the BCA buffer and spring that comes with the upper.

Nice set up. Now they need to make one in .17 WSM.

I have been debating buying a 17 upper or a savage a17. Would be nice to see how she does when you really stretch its legs out.

I have a B17, great rifle. I would recommend a Savage to anyone. Though this does look like fun too.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Did the upper come with magazines, or which other ones work well?

My upper included a Black Dog 22WMR mag (I ordered it when they first came out last summer) but I don't think BCA provides one anymore with the upper. They have them in stock though.
