bolt .22 reccomendation...

Guys I am thinking of going with the Marlin 925 looks like a nice classic rifle and I have heard good things about accuracy, I was considering getting one in 22 mag but have heard BAD things about accuracy with a 22 mag. What is you're guys take on this?

Do you have to be a member of the CMP to get it shipped to you're door? The M44 looks like a nice gun but big and heavy.

You have to qualify for CMP purchases, but it isn't hard to do. Here is a link to the CMP that explains what you need. On a side note, they are sold out on the Mossberg 44 rifles right now. I say get qualified and have an order form ready to send when they hopefully get some more rimfire rifles up for sale. I have gotten some really nice rifles from them over the last 4 years including Winchester 52D and Remington 40X rifles at prices you'll not see anywhere else.

Nice thing about 22 mag right now is that if you ever want to hunt varmints in condor zones you can get the lead-free ammo for them. Also, +1 on the CZ452; I have a trainer model and my dad has 2 Americans. Real tack drivers for the money, and you can get Timney aftermarket triggers for them now. Iron sights on the 452 are top notch, especially with Eric Brook's ghostrings. The long bbl also helps. I shot a rabbit at about 80 yds with my trainer recently and have nailed gophers popping their heads out of holes at about 25 yds before with the open sights.

I have a savage centerfire with accutrigger that works great.

However, a couple of guys in the precision rifle 22lr competitions with savage MKII accutriggers have had problems. I know Desert Frog was one guy who had issues with his more than once.
