Ruger RS-22 available in CA soon. Nobody wants P-22.Comment

I'm a certified Walther fanboy but I'll never guy anything that doesn't have the Ulm marks on it. Anything Arnsberg is Umarex trash.

I got one years ago for $249, might as well flushed the money down the toilet.
There are those that claim “mine eats everything” but the one I got was poop.sigpicOriginally posted by dunndealStop digging.iTraderOriginally posted by BrassCaseI only buy fireworks from Three Finger Willie over at One Eyed Jack's Fireworks.

Mine does not "eat everything", however, it does run reliably with cci ammo. It especially likes stingers, although minimags are just as reliable.sigpicComment

Since 1993, Umarex has owned Walther.
^Since then, Umarex has designed/made all of the Walther branded .22LR firearms.

The Ruger SR22 is way superior over the Walther P22 and PPQ22.
From personal experience, the Walther P22/PPQ22 only runs when using high velocity (1400+ FPS) ammo and will not run using standard or low velocity ammo.Last edited by Quiet; 06-01-2023, 5:08 PM.sigpic

We think alike.
I researched this and watched a few videos and there seems to be a common theme about needing to smooth out a step that causes the slide to hang up on the hammer and that may to be the main cause of the reliability problems.
Hello All, So I recently purchased a very lightly used Walther p22 and I've now shot it on 3 occasions. On each occasion I would get a few FTF out of 50-100 rds. On the last occasion I was getting an FTF with just about every magazine load. I thought maybe the Galloway captured spring that...
Looks to be a simple solution worth spending a few minutes on something like this:

Years ago with my P22, I noticed if you pulled the slide back real slow you'd feel the hammer snag in that gap. I made the effort to disassemble and inspect everything and see what was going on and did some polishing. Still needs the "right" HV ammo to run 100% though. We think alike.

Who remembers when you could still buy the P22 kit in CA with both the 3-1/2" and 5" barrels?
I like the ergonomics and OEM factory fit laser. But still need to apply for a can tax stamp here in FL.
