I like my M&P 15-22, no problems over several years.

Not sure about any trigger modifications though.

I would say roll your own like I do..I made this A2 Clone one using All the USGI FN parts I could find and a repro PSA M16A2 lower..And yes I have a Franklin Binary in it..It is a lot of fun with the BDM 50 Rnd Drums..

When I first got interested in having an AR22..I did look at the SW..But I was quickly convinced over on the ARFCOM Forum to just put my own together using CMMG components..It did not take them much convincing, as I hated the idea of plastic the SW uses, and the fact that is somewhat of a proprietary design by SW..

I am really glad they talked me into doing it the way I did..

There are few other options out there too other than the SW and building a dedicated upper with CMMG parts..I am sure others will be along to explain what they like/dislike in that dept. But I thrilled with the route I took with mine..

I do really like the SW mags, I have few I run occasionally in my dedicated uppers..I have to add a small shim to the SW mags or they rock back and forth a little with out it..I could buy a mag adapter to use the SW mags and have last shot hold open..But last shot hold open is not a issue for me..I am fine with not having it..

That said, from all accounts I have read the Franklin should work fine in the SW if you go that route..

Thanks guys. I am leaning towards piecing one together. I like yours ar22. That’s a good looking gun. Any brands I should stay away from

If you put one together..Both CMMG and RTB are both good as far as parts if you buy new..I think RTB (Right to Bear Arms) are actually rebranded CMMG parts they source from them..

If you watch the Rimfire Equipment Exchange on the ARFCOM forum there are some good deals that come up there by vendors having sales on new parts. Or private people selling excess there..Take your time and scrounge and you should be able to put one together pretty reasonable..

As far as anything in put together Rifles ready to go..I have no first hand experience with anything like that..I actually prefer to put all my AR style Rifles in any caliber together myself from either used or new parts..That way it is done right the first time, the way I want it, not how someone else envisions it..

I was looking at rtb and they have some sales going on. Thanks for pointing me in to the right direction. I was never interested in a .22 ar but with ammo prices and that trigger I don’t want to end up bankrupt

I only tried my Binary Trigger one time with 5.56, just to say I did it..I did not like it at all..Not only the expense of blasting the expensive ammo up..But it was just not a lot of fun and not very controllable for me anyway..I bought the Franklin for exclusive use with my dedicated .22 uppers. With a the little .22 LR round it is cheap fun and very easy to stay on target too..

Another reason to go dedicated and a very good one in my opinion..Is I can swap any of my dedicated uppers on the same Franklin equipped Mil Spec lower at any time. You can only shoot one upper at a time anyway..

Good luck and let us know what you do..

I got too many projects and not enough time. But the prices aren’t to bad. So I might buy and sit on it for a while. I just picked up 2 11 inch barreled AK receivers (milled) today. I will update when I purchase

                          Tippmann.

Much better quality than their S&W.

Completed AR15 lower plus dedicated AR22 upper. Or assemble a lower from stripped receiver and parts kit. I created my own AR15 lower after buying a Nordic 22 upper.

I'll echo what has been stated a couple of times already. M&P 15-22. Another alternative, but further away from the AR platform would be a used Sig 522 if you can find one. Discontinued a few years ago. They are heavy ('cause they are well made).
