In this particular case, the rifle does resemble an AK variant...

...but why does it seem that people use that expression when describing rifles that don't resemble AKs at all? Is it because it rhymes, or something? I don't get it...

Definition of Krinker Plinker

The Krinker Plinker is an after-market kit for the Ruger 10/22 that makes it look a bit like a Krinkov -- thus the "krinker plinker." You can see it at www.krinkerplinker.com. Basically, you keep the receiver and trigger from your 10/22 and toss everything else out.

It comes with a new barrel, the pistol grip, and a folding metal stock. All in all, it's a pretty good kit, but the wood he created makes it look much better.

Archangel makes a nice kit that converts a 10/22 into a more AR-15 look. There's less metal in it than in the Krinker, but I give it better marks for looks and ease of putting together/taking apart.
