Mounted the scope today and noticed the Low Key stone rings with the CZ Pic rail limits how far forward I can move the Vortex Diamondback scope. The zoom ring pushes again the pic rail, and when lining up the scope I'm a bit too far forward and have to move my head back.

I will take out the current setup to zero it tomorrow and see how it does on the range, but I ordered the medium keystone rings, should give me just enough room to clear the zoom ring over the pic rail (I hope as it is hard to measure).

Trying to keep the scope as low as possible, but it will end up close to 2" over bore with the new rings.

Assembled - not clear in the picture, but zoom ring is very close to the pic rail

Love the Vortez scope, though the lines are bit thin at less than 6x zoom. Really starts doing well at 8x or higher.

First range trip, and definitely need to push the scope forward a bit for me.
Was a bit windy, and I tested CCI SV and Aguila SV, seems like the Aguila did produce some of the better groups, but the CCI seemed more consistent. Hard to tell.

      All 5 shot groups

      25yds - red diamond is 1/2"

50 yds - the wind kept pushing the target a bit causing the one flyer to the left. Black diamond is 1/2"

100yds - was hard to get tight groups as the wind was inconsistent. This was probably the best group with the flyer. With the right conditions and a bit more trigger time, should be able to get 1" groups with the SV ammo.

I shoot from a bench with a Harris bi-pod upfront and a Caldwell squeeze bag on the rear, not a setup for tightest groups a rifle can do. But more realistic for me.

      Next on the list:
      - Get the scope rings to adjust it for a better shooting position
      - Add a YoDave trigger spring, I adjusted the stock spring and it is at 2lb 10oz t the lightest setting I could get. Looking to make it sub 2lb to 1.5 lb for target work.

She is a pretty heavy setup with the scope, but was a lot of fun. Good looking rifle as well, love the look of the wood stock and the heavy barrel.

For the dovetail, Burris Rimfire rings work just fine.
However, once you go over a 40mm optic, using a scope rail instead of the dovetail becomes almost essential for adequate clearance.
I like the DIP rails because they screw into the receiver rather than clamp onto the dovetail and are a lot cheaper than the Area 419. I just ordered a DIP Products rail for my newest build with a 14x Fullfield E1. YMMV. The Area 419 rails are nice too, especially for long-range shooters.
