Dedicated .22 upper Vs. 10/22

I found room in my safe for a Spikes AND a couple 10/22s. One of the 10/22s is factory straight and will be what I teach my daughter to shoot on. The other I added a .920 barrel to, a new trigger group, blah blah blah. I look like a goober I'm sure with my ".22 sniper rifle" but looking like a goober only bothers me a little. And it is pretty cool to hit tin cans at 100yards with a .22lr.

Just wanted to point out two options:

Shotgun News this year did a review on a 10/22 conversion kit by Nordic. Once you insert your 10/22 receiver into this kit, you can then attach AR15 pistol grips, stocks, etc. Also it has a rail on top for all of the fun optics. It's worth looking into.

Also, Colt just came out with a dedicated 22 lr that looks like an AR15. It's being mfg'd by someone else for them. I've seen it and touched it. It looks great and sells for around $600. Having said that, the Nordic 10/22 conversion might cost a bit less. The Colt 22 lr being a totally dedicated lower that only supports a 22 lr upper will probably avoid any OLL bans if they happen.
