    .22LR revolver suggestions

So i want to pickup a .22LR revolver. For me, but also for my youngest to shoot.

She prefers revolvers over Semi-auto's and so do I, and I'm thinking that since I have all S&W revolvers - a Smith might be good since the operation would be the same or similar - not a requirement, just something I'm leaning towards. (i also just prefer Smiths for look and feel).

what do you think? J-frame .22's? K-frame "trainer"? or another good "non-Smith" option?

I'm not keen on a single action, though there is a 12-shot .22 SAA clone in one of my LGS's that's tempting. Also a 6-shot Heritage arms.

They're not fancy, they don't have a fancy name and they don't make em anymore but they are a great little double/single action gun. I've had mine for 40 years.

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I like the price of Ruger wrangler's - gets pretty good reviews, too.

            Wait, what

Take a good look at em.

If I had money to burn I'd buy the one in the link. I know there are some other members that have one or two.

The S&W 617 is a beautiful firearm. I have a 617, a vintage Ruger Single Six, and a recent Heritage Arms Rough Rider. The Rough rider may have issues out of the box. I've read you have to be pretty deliberate while cocking them so I'll have to get it back to the range. Never had an issue with the other two. I like the 10 round 617 a lot. I'm not sure how hard they are to come by these days.

Three of my favorites are Ruger Bearcat - 4" barrel, 6 shot, with elk antlers grips - perfect for small hands, taught my kids how to shoot with Bearcats. S&W Model 63 - 3" barrel, 8 shot, with Altamont S&W J Round Frame Altai grips, my walk around gun, when I walk my dog. S&W Model 617 - 4" barrel, 10 shots, with Altamont S&W K Round Frame Roper Grips, great target gun.

I like my DA 4 inch Smith 617, but I like my SA Ruger single Ten more.

I have not shot one, but if your youngest is under 10 I would think about something like the Wrangler for the reduced weight.

                            Smith & Wesson 617 or vintage K-22.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!
