If you keep an eye on gunbroker, you can pick up a Ruger Single Six for around $225. Its just a little more and you will have an accurate revolver with adjustable sights and the fit and finish are a lot better.

It doesn’t matter if I shoot standing or from a bench with my wrists resting on sand bags. I’ve tried different types of ammo; it just doesn’t shoot well. It’s not suitable for hunting due to the poor accuracy. It’s a nice looking revolver. I found a leather Desantis Holster for about $25, but I honestly wouldn’t carry it on the trail or hunting. I won’t waste money on pretty grips. It sits in my safe, and not because it’s a queen (it’s a turd).
If your gun shoots a deck of cards group at 5 yards, that's a defective barrel. Should be shooting between a dime and a quarter at that distance.

Just get the Ruger Single Ten and call it a day. That gun is accurate and built like a tank. Everything about it exudes quality and it will outlast you. It’s a great gun to be passed down to your grandchildren’s children

When the Wrangler first came out I tried one and had the deck of cards size groups at 5 yds from a sandbag rest. I vowed that they weren't worth buying.

Fast forward a couple years, I ordered the short barrel birdshead grip Wrangler just for the looks and was pleasantly surprised. It is a shooter. I haven't put it to paper but it hits cans and steels consistently. The tiny sights are right on POI and most of the time are easy to use. I did get the black color gun and in certain lighting the round front sight blade is a little shiny and gets glare on the top edge making sighting difficult. But I think the black gun and front sight is still a better choice than the other colors for sighting.

I can't be happier. I always had a birdshead grip/short barrel conversion of a Single Six on my to-do list for years, which now post-covid could cost at least $800-$1000. The shorty Wrangler was in the $250-$280 range. Well worth it.

I wonder what the barrel crown looked like on the ones that just couldn't hold a decent group...

                    Well said, sir
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I'm going to take my Wrangler and my Heritage out on sunday and see how they group on paper.
I have only shot the wrangler on steel plates so I really don't know how it groups on paper but it sure does good on a plate rack or a dueling tree.

I shot a Wrangler about 6 months ago, as a rental gun at a local range. I didn't really care for it, and decided not to keep it on my list as an option for a 22LR wheelgun.

There wasn't anything inherently wrong with it, and all of my gripes with it could have been ended with, "...but for the price, it's acceptable."

That said I just bought a 5.5" Single Ten and I can't WAIT to get that thing out of jail. Shot one once and loved it instantly.
