Can you guys help? I think its a mossberg?

My brother had some firearms handed down to him, after his father in law passed away. I can’t find any engravings or see any on the rifle , and can’t really tell exactly what it is. It’s a semi auto rear Butt stock fed tubular mag, .22lr i think? It might be a Mossberg 151 M(b). Can anybody verify?

    Thank you

Yes, I think it is a Mossberg. I had one almost identical to that one, sans scope. I'm sure there were different models and I don't recall the exact model of mine. ( loaned to a younger brother and he sold it)

My Dad purchased it from Montgomery Wards or the like on discharge from the Army in 1944 or'45.

Good shooter. It had three flip up front sights to choose from; post, ring, etc.

Long rifle and a lot of fun.

If I find out more info, I'll follow up.

      Respectfully
      Kyle

Mossberg, the trigger guard is the telltale part on mossberg 22lr.

I have seen several models of Mossberg 22lr with that trigger guard but different forends and mags.

                20190731_152830.jpgLooks like my Mossberg 151M with a missing forend. Model 151 M-B. Circa 1949.

Havlin Sales is a great resource for all things Mossberg- be it .22lr or shotgun. Call and talk to Vic or his wife [Sherry, I think?].

They can give a LOT of information.

Mossberg actually referred me to them for info on the stuff I have made before 1970.

                      Google will help you.

                      great people there.
Where did all the range-time go?

                          I don't know if it's a Mossberg or not.

But this is the best place to find out.

                            AHHH, Cheryl! Not Sherrie.

Yep- good website. Vic and Cheryl Havlin run it. Has his name on the 'about the club' page, and her name for the email correspondence address.

                            Nice rifle.
