I bought one last year think its the 4.spmething barrel but anyhow i like it.The sites were off quite a bit shot high and left i tried to notch the rear site but went wrong way slightly but ended up bending the front site which would have had to be done anyways it was that far off and now it shoots centered just a tad high but great out to 30-40 yards.

I will eventually weld and fill rear site then re notch it i already looked it over easy fix to do for me but still like the gun and would buy another.Besides i had about 4k rounds of 22 when i bought it and got tired of shooting my 10/22

Heard that. I took my Nephews shooting for the first time and they (and I) had a blast.



I cannot wait to be able to go shooting with my girl. At only 10 months old I have a long way to go.

Probably not as long as you might think. I know someone who started shooting a 44Special at age 4.

I just ignore it and treat the gun like the old SAA with the firing pin resting on a live round type of thing.

Honestly, ignore it and it won't bother you.

My 1964 Ruger Convertible still shoots as good as the day it was born. My Kimel, the precursor to the Heritage is a cheaply made piece of junk. Same gun different name.

I have 1 with 6" barrel. I just got a 22 mag cylinder to shoot Javelina on our Texas property.

Imma go against the grain and say RR safety seems like OK or even GOOD IDEA.

These guns are (somewhat) marketed to novice users and "Junior's first real gun", not Lee Van Cleff. I've got a couple of SA revolvers and it takes some real concentration to figure out how to keep a empty under the hammer. This would be very problematic for novice users "in the field" or even semi-dark. These same users would be likely to drop the gun for various reasons. Last few times I was carrying a SSA Colt 22lr clone back on the trial in dusk I'd just unload it rather than figure out the 5/6 issue.

I'd be ifty-50 on whether I'd want such a safety on my personal guns and would need to see/feel IRL first, but I'd probably go for the safety if for no other reason than it allows an extra round to be kept loaded.

If having safeties on the guns means they can now be used a Summer Camp or something, due to Insurance, etc, I'd be all for it, I guess.
