I've seen a few on gunbroker but at prices that are way high for a .22. It would be sweet to have a matching set of SU's. Isaac did you ever decide if you were going to wait for a SU-22 or just go with the GSG?

So meet me at the mission at midnight we'll divy up there.

Well I have the pistols so I'll keep the pesos. Yeah that seems fair."

I actually bought the Colt M4 22lr, picking it up tomorrow. Had some indoor range time with a rental M4-22 this past weekend and I like the accuracy alot and the way it handles. I also want the SU22 so I can match my SU16CA as a set. I found one at San Jose Gun Exchanged for $429, if its still there the next time around, I might just have to pick it up.Comment

Took the SU-22 out to Circle-S. Very windy today! My daughter R. zeroed the rifle at 25 yards (with a little help from the old man).
She liked the extremely light weight, ease of handling and simple controls.
It was difficult for her to keep a steady rest as the wind was easily 20+ MPH in gusts. Her best three round groups at 25 yards from a rest were within 1.25" despite the refreshing breeze.
The following rounds were tested:
Wal-Mart Federal bulk #750, 36 gr. copper washed HP
Centurion 38 gr. lead HP
Winchester 37 gr. copper washed ("Lubaloy") HP
The only failures were 3 FTF, all Federal. Accuracy was substantially the same for all rounds tested. A retest on a calmer day may show up minor differences between the different brands of ammo.
Just in case someone's thinking, "Pics or it didn't happen", here is a gratuitous pic of R. firing the SU-22 (sorry, no camera present at the range, cell phone had to do).

Back at the range today, tested the following:
CCI Mini-Mags - functioned well, good accuracy (pic below)
CCI Stingers - bolt seem to cycle too fast, lots of gas/powder grains out the ejection port
40 rounds of CCI Mini-Mag at 25 yards, from bench but no rest. The three flyers were all called - the wind was just as bad today as it was yesterday.

One thing I don't like - the scope has to be dismounted to clean the weapon. Guess I'll have to invest in QD rings - and a better scope as this one was difficult to zero (as the pic shows).I'm retired. That's right, retired. Not the greatest picture, but I'm not the greatest photographer, either. SU-22 on the left, SU-16 on right for comparison.

when you purchased the SU22 what size magazine did it come with?
I just purchased one and am not sure if they gave me the right one.
Thank you.Comment

It came with a 10-round magazine. That's the best you can do here behind enemy lines.
The choices would be 10 or 29 round AFAIK.
If you got a 29 round mag by mistake, I don't want to know about it.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

I've had mine for a few months, got it from a fellow calgunner a few months ago. I've put over a thousand rounds of federal bulk pack through her, no problem. I would like to put the pistol grip component on it, and since it is a 22lr I think it would be legal. I really like mine, but need more Black dog magazines for her. I think you made a good purchase.
