Convertible .22LR/Mag revolvers

Personally, I like the little steel-framed blue/color-case Colt Peacemaker 22lr/22mag revolvers made back when Colt made some dandy little guns---mine has the shorter, ejector length barrel and shoots surprisingly well...
If Colt made these fine little guns today, they would have to charge near $1000 bucks!

My Ruger Single Six came with both cylinders. I like having the ability to use both cartridges, but due to the cost of .22 Magnum ammo, I shoot .22 LR 99.99% of the time. Whenever I have my Ruger Single Six with me, I always have the magnum cylinder and ammo with me, in the event that I would want to use it.

Bi-Mart had a bunch yesterday for $12.99/box of 50.

My Ruger single six convertible is all steel also. The weight feels like a gun. The wrangler and other light weight guns feel like toys/airsoft to me.

I agree. I have a pair of Single-Six revolvers, one made in 1958 and the other 1962. "Solid" is a good word to describe them, they are weighty and feel good in your hand. Almost no different than a SAA. Plus, the 4 distinct clicks when you thumb the hammer back. Lovely little guns.

I would like a 4" version of the Taurus double action they made with interchangeable cylinders but unfortunately they're unobtanium here.

I have the American Heritage .22 revolver and I have shot .22 mag in it. In fact it still has the cylinder in it. Only reason I don't shot it more is the ammo is more expensive and hard to find.

I went in to buy the Heritage convertible and walked out with a Wrangler.

It's not pretty and I know it's not as nice as my Ruger Wrangler or my Single Six or my Colt Frontiers but for around $100 shipped, I will play with it and maybe give it to my mom after I tune it up.

I shoot almost exclusively magnum through my 1 1/8" barrel NAA, and mags out of my 16" Heritage are great fun.

I have three or four single six's with both cylinders. I have one with only the magnum cylinder. It was bought new in the early 70's with only the magnum cylinder. None of my other standard cylinders will even come close to fitting in that revolver so I am stuck with a magnum only gun with that one.

Like most I do 99% of my shooting with Lr ammo. I do load the magnums and leave those guns hidden around the house for emergencies in the home in case I need another gun quickly.

I'm not good enough with handguns to get any benefit out of magnums in 22.....the range I am effective in would not make much difference on small game. Now, a human responds a little better to a magnum hit than a standard hit so that is why I load them with magnums for "what if" situations in and around the homestead.

I have the Single Six with both Cylinders.

I don't like shooting magnums for the only reason of it leaves a bunch of unburnt powder all over and it caused the cylinder to hang up once, at least that is what I'm blaming it on.

I sighted it in for the CCI mini mags and that's all I shoot out of it. It's just a rabbit gun anyways.
