    .22 Rifle Cleaning Kit

What's everyone's favorite rifle cleaning kit? I'm looking for .22 only kit I have lots of other sizes but none seem to work very well for .22 rifles.

I don't use a kit for any of my rifles, though I do have one for .22 riimfire handguns. I use a coated or fiber caliber appropriate one-piece rod for all my rifles. I think I bought them all at Midway USA but am not 100% sure of that.

I’d use a bore guide made for that specific rifle, coated Dewey guide rod and a brass jag with patches.

Definitely a quality one piece 20 caliber rod.
Helps to have some sort of rifle cleaning "vise".
Are you cleaning a bolt rifle that easy to clean from chamber to muzzle with bolt removed? Or another type of action that cleans from the muzzle unless disassembling some parts?
I've become more OK with a bore snake when I don't want to disassemble to clean.

I just use a boresnake for my 22s, saves a ton of time and avoid working from the crown end on some. Truth be told I started using boresnakes on other firearms as well.

Anyone get good results with a nylon brush? Henry recommends that over brass. For me, oiled patch, brush, patch, bore snake.

Gunsmither tool for chamber cleaning, Nylon G.I. toothbrush for barrel and bolt/slide face, Bore Snake for bore, One Shot Cleaner/Dry Lube. Renaissance Wax for wood stocks and metal surfaces.

I recommend a 20cal and a 22cal rod. 20cal rod with 20cal jag can be very useful with larger patches. As far as the 22cal rod, try to get one that is rimfire specific. Boretech RF 22cal rod is slightly smaller diameter than typical 22cal rods.

I use Boretech Rimfire Blend and Boretech C4 carbon cleaner. Rimfire Blend is great for general cleaning. But when it comes time to knock out that carbon ring, C4 is exceptional. I recommend C4 in general because it's a great carbon cleaner to be used in other guns.

I'm currently using Pro-Shot patches, a mix of jags (Pro-shot, Dewey, Boretech, etc), nylon brushes with brass/bronze core (Brownells), and wool mops (Brownells).

I like the wool mops for spreading Boretech C4 in a mostly cleaned bore to get the remaining carbon out and to start getting to the carbon ring. You might also want to get a chamber rod so you can just put the mop on the chamber rod, soak the mop with Boretech carbon cleaner, and stick the mop into the chamber and into the lands and leave it there over night.

Then of course, the appropriate rod guide for your given actions.

I mostly use the patchworm kit...very handy. I add it to it felt cleaning pellets. Lots of folks at rimfire central go this route.

I also use lots of bore tech...everything. I got two shipments of miscellaneous stuff from their website this past week even.

This is all I use now on my cz 457 and 10/22. This combo of gear has kept my cz shooting great for a good while now.
