I'll chime in that I put a Clark Customs trigger kit in mine and was not very happy with the result. I spoke to their customer service folks, and they asked me to send them the entire trigger group, on their dime, which they promptly returned to me and the result was stunning. I'm a sucker for great customer service.

Get the volquartson hammer. You can always get the sear later but I don't think you will need to. You can get the hammer here with free shipping. http://www.hawktecharms.com/ruger/10-22.htm Mark

I did all my 10/22's and a few customers as well. Used all the std. Ruger stuff and them work great with some smart massaging.

For sure not a easy DIY unless you know what your doing.

You do as one poster said have to take stuff apart few times to test and ensure your doing ENOUGH but TOO MUCH. (Too much of a good thing can hurt you)

I did the Automatic bolt releases and took all the creep out of the trigger group, and cut the trigger pull down so it's crisp and clean. Bonus is no worries of the accidental firing.

Have not (myself) tried the VQ stuff but (my buddy has) we all know that is great stuff.

I personally like the cheap stuff on some stuff and my 10/22's fit that catagory.

        CHEAP and my FAVORITE!!!

I went overboard and just got the Volquartesn TG2000 trigger assembly replacement. It breaks really cleanly and the trigger is very light. Can't go wrong with it.
