"New" Levermatic

Picked up this first year (1959") Marlin Levermatic last week at the Gun Show..It was kinda rough for 170.00..But a few Hours work on the wood and a little on the metal, a new bullseye and buttplate it came out petty decent. Made new White line spacers for the grip cap and buttplate too..Made those out a a 1 Gallon Oil jug.

Still have to find a front sight hood..But I also may not even keep this one as it is a duplicate in my collection now..

Shoots and operates great as a Marlin should.

Very nice. I owned one a few years back and let it go to fund an endeavor I had going at the time. Most regretted sale to date.

It would be wonderful to see Ruger revive this model now that they've acquired Marlin, and niftier still if they altered the desgn to allow it to accept M1 mags - but I'm not holding my breath.
