Squirrel Hunting, anywhere in CA?
Collapse

The gun doesn't smell loaded. -
I hunt tree squirrel (grays) and yes, I eat them. I also shoot ground squirrel and no, I don't eat them.
In the areas I hunt, I can shoot the tree squirrels with lead, but have to use non-lead on the ground squirrels.
I use a 22mag on the ground squirrels, CCI TNT Green, 30grains, very fast and accurate out of my Savage 93FVSS.
I look forward to the Winchester non-lead 22's so I can just use one rifle for both.Comment

Seeing as a good half of my old high school buddies live on farms/ranches squirrel hunting is pretty much in anyone's "backyard" (Tulare btw)
Went squirrel hunting/plinking a few months ago, but it just happened to be too cold the day we went. only saw one
