Ruger Wrangler loading woes

I figured out why. Winchester ammo tends to run on the “fat” side. I came home and all my other ammo fits perfect. The first time I googled I didn’t find anything but the second time I did I found another thread on a forum stating the exact same thing I found. I hope if anything this thread helps the next guy that’s why I’m gonna leave it. -
Found that out about Winchester ammo myself a couple weeks ago with a Ruger Single-Six. Some round just wouldn't load.NRA Life Member

Winchester ammo was your problem, but generally speaking, the cylinder gets dirty quickly and causes other ammo to get stuck also.
Tornado brushes are great for cleaning the cylinder because they're so durable and the bristles don't flake off.

Friend was having feeding issues with a GSG and Win bulk ammo. Thought it was the gun. Tried some in my old S&W 34. Most I could stuff in, but some I couldn't. Found out her GSG was just fine.
Haven't had the same issue with Super XPalestine is a fake country

Ruger Wrangler loading woes
otherwise, how is your wrangler doing? i have a ruger single six, bearcat, wrangler, and a heritage roughrider. if i were starting anew, had to choose just one and done, it would be the wrangler, though i wish that ruger had offered it in 8 rounds.

Is the release pin bent? You can check this easily: Lay the pin on a smooth surface and roll it. You will see right away if it's bent.
If it is bent, contact Ruger and see about getting a replacement pin.
If it is not bent, clean the holes that the pin passes through. Inspect the holes and look for burrs. If there are no burrs, put a little lube in the hole in the frame and the cylinder that the pin passes through and see if that helps.
If that does not work, contacting Ruger is your next step.

My Wrangler has worked very well, except that the loading gate was very hard to open. I had to open it up and file a little on the spring that pushes against the loading gate to make it less hard to open. I recontoured it a little. I don't know if they are all like this or only mine had that problem, but compared to my single six it was very hard. It is now much better and I have yaken out several times with my nephews to teach them how to shoot.Comment

which Winchester ammo exactly was it? I have about 10k rounds of Win M22, I guess I need to see how they fit in some revolvers. They run great out of semi autos.Comment

I agree with your suggestions except, I disagree with your suggestion to lightly lube the cylinders' chambers. Brass cases are intended to go into steel chambers without lube. I don't know of a firearm manufacturer that recommends lube in a chamber.sigpicComment

I keep my cylinder chambers dry also. I use M-Pro 7 to clean the chambers instead of CLP, because I don't want any hint of lubrication in there. There's no metal to metal friction involved in the chamber so all it would do is attract gun powder residue.Comment
