tundradcabtrd thanks for asking. Yes I picked it up. I'm still waiting for the scope, hand guard and grip. I also picked up a few Hi-cap magazines (LEO) from So. Cal Guns.

My department credentials weren't good enough for Rettings. I'll probably never go there again. I knew they were A__holes from my first interaction with them. I asked the guy to see the GSG and he takes of the wall and hands it to me. I hand it back and another customer asked him "what is that?". THe A__hole salesman responds "it's a piece of sh_t". It takes alot to shock me. I was almost shocked...lol

Anyways, here is the GSG next to my Beretta 92FS Brigadier 9mm and HK USP Compact .45. I'll post again once I get it totally set up how I want.

      Wow
I was about to hit MBR today knowing they have the GSG-5 (been wanting one for a while)
After hearing about the interactions with the sales staff there, I think I'll pass.

What a bunch of douche bags. Thinking I'll wait and pick up one of the new Colt .22 LR Lines
They look awesome, and from what I hear are priced like the GSG-5
      These things are bad arss

How much are those Colt M4 Carbines? I like that one alot. After 17 years in the Marines I'm kinda burned out on the AR-15/M-16.

Well, with the inventory they have on hand I wouldn't be surprised if MBR is the first to have them on the shelves on the only store to keep a stock of them. Depending on where you live you may have to deal with them at some point.

As long as you walk in knowing that they aren't the type of sales guys the greet you with a smile then it's no big deal.

For me though I know I won't go there again.

My GSG-5 and my RAA Saiga 7.62x39 from here in wine country. Both are very fun guns to shoot. (RAA Saiga is in fixed mag configuration)

I actually bought the GSG-5 because of how much I like shooting the RAA Saiga, but with ammo costs it made sense to actually shoot more .22LR rounds and possibly save money each time I take them out... As it turns out though I don't think I'm getting ahead, cause I seem to fire 4x as many .22's per outing. My theory that I would actually pay for the GSG-5 in ammo $$$ savings doesn't seem to be turning out as planned. Oh well Dumping the 10 round mag in a little over a second from the hip using the laser sight at the local indoor range is very fun though - can't bring the Saiga there.

the only version without the fake suppressor is the pistol version.

the fake suppressor hides the somewhat ugly barrel sticking out. so keeping it on is better than off. unless u like the 6 inches of barrel sticking out.

I think you have to convert the pistol version to single shot due to the mag being separate from the grip, but maybe someone else here knows for sure.

DD's Ranch has them on sale right now. You could buy from him and have it shipped to your local FFL.

It seems to be common in "free" states to buy the GSG-5P pistol version, then fill out the form and pay the fee to turn it into an SBR by attaching a collapsible stock, which basically gets you in the end the same rifle as the one you see here without the fake suppressor and extra barrel length.

I'm pretty sure you aren't going to be able to do that in Cali as a normal citizen.
