Never mind then since you are LEO. Us normal folks cannot get or use the 22 rounders which is why i asked.

That's the problem I'm facing getting one. No one will sell it with the 10 rnd mags. BTW anyone know where I can get one up near Yuba City/Sacramento?

I broke down and bought mine from GunsAmerica, I am happy with the rifle but would not recommend the seller, Putnam Tactical (out of New York). A scope was supposed to come with it and did not, now they won't respond.
You can order the rifle with the 22 round mag, it just has to come to Cali in pieces, your FFL can block it for you. There is a thread on AR-15.com about how to block the 22 round mag.

Also these over hyped plastic rifles are actually pretty fun plinkers that are cheap to shoot.
A ruger 10/22 can do the same exact thing a GSG-5 can do for half the price. If you are happy with your's that is all that matters.

This is just an odd ball prediction, one day these GSG-5's will be new on the selves for $399.

You know I was thinking the same thing before I purchased the GSG. I was seriously considering the 10/22 and some of the customization options.

After looking into it, when you talk about replacing the barrel, replacing the stock and a few other parts that are out there you will have paid double of what a GSG costs.

When I went to Rettings they had the GSG for $475 and a wall of tricked out 10/22s starting at $1000 up to $1500. When I saw that I was actually happy about the decision to get the GSG. I wanted a fun gun, that is on the lower end of the cost spectrum, that has customization options. The 10/22 is cheaper from the start but I think the GSG is cheaper in the end. At least for me.

Yeah but your also creating a precision rifle at that point. That's for shooting a gnat's a ss off at 100 yards.

Just for plinking fun the 10/22 and the GSG-5 do exactly the same thing. That is put holes in paper or aluminum cans as fast as you can pull the trigger. Sure one looks a little cooler than the other.

As long as you takes yours out and have fun with it, that's all that matters.
