    Heritage Rough Rider Rancher

I want this! What a fun looking rifle. It's a revolver rifle.
Has anyone shot this or something similar?
    MSRP $295

I have combo cylinders 22mag and 22LR for my revolver. Easy to switch out. Have to admit, I shot the 22mag couple times and haven't since. Good option for people who like to shoot both calibers.

Rossi made the Circuit Judge in 22lr that is a DA revolver carbine. They also make it in CF calibers. I think the 22 is discontinued but I see it come up for sale online. The 45 cal CF is still made. They have a shield at the lower part of the cylinder gap so your arm does not get burnt when holding the foreend. I saw the 45 colt one in Glendale before the COVID thing.

The Circuit Judge looks really cool too. It holds 9 shots and has a forend, unlike the Rough Rider.

I've got the 16" revolver and it is GREAT fun to shoot, either lr or magnum.

Salisbury, There were early cap and ball revolving rifles, but they were known for chain firing and blowing off the support hand of the shooter, so they weren't very popular or made for long.

That would explain it. Blowing off your hand is never fun.

                  Hahah! Nope!

That Heritage I would be interested in buying if they designed it in a way that you could use a normal rifle grip with your support hand. But even the gas from a 22 magnum jetting out from the cylinder gap is probably not ideal.

Gotta ask why? I recently bought the 22mag for mine but haven't shot it yet. Any reason inparticular?

                      Rounds are expensive (40-45 cpr),
Obnoxiously loud coming out of a handgun.

Yeah, that might be the downside. It's probably very nose-heavy.

The real problem with it was that the revolvers we had at the time were cap and ball which could Chainfire. And if a revolver carbine chain fires with your off hand out front it is nasty business. Everybody made them, but they just never really caught on.

I almost never shoot 22magnum out of any of my convertibles. I don't see the point, unless it's for coyotes or other vermin, or squirrels or rabbits. 18 cents per cylinder is much better than 3 bucks per cylinder!

I have 2 rough riders (bought 1 for $50) one for 22 one for magnum. Magnum is all sorts of fun with the fireballs
