Trouble with Buckmark
Collapse

My Buckmark was constantly jamming from day one. Turns out the ejector was bent from the factory, which I bent back in place. I also replaced the extractor with an Eagle's Talon. These two things completely solved my stovepipe issues and haven't had one in about 1500 rounds since. A plus is now the spent casing get ejected across the indoor range lol. I do get light primer strikes every so often that may be ammo related. I was thinking of upgrading the firing pin.

The star washers can only be re-used a couple times before they loose their "bite" and should be replaced.those little star washers in the top strap don't do crap - the top strap holds the firing pin assembly in place and if, rather when, they back out even just a tad (which they are prone to do even after just a few rounds) the results are pretty much everything you described with the exception of the mag falling out... but as far as I can tell there are only 3 things that could cause that, all of which start with it not being fully seated... that being said you may want to check and make sure that you didn't bend/break your ejector
"Frequent repair type" thread locker also works well.

since, in theory, you should be removing them to clean I don't like using loctite, though I have used it just around the head (not on the threads) of the screw before but I have found that isn't even necessary - a couple of wraps of plumbers tape on the threads will make everything so much easier... removal is a breeze, no worries about it not wanting to release and a quick wipe down tp remove the old tape and you are good to go again... did I mention that the tape only costs about a dollar and it never goes bad or at least I have never kept a roll long enough for it to.
side note the plumbers tape trick works on anything threadedComment

Other than what's mentioned in the thread, you guys are happy with your Buckmarks? I'm thinking of getting one.Comment

Yes, very reliable, accurate and easy to shoot.
Add a red dot and it can be like shooting a laser beam.
If you miss, it's on you.
Everybody who shoots mine likes it.
It's just an old Camper model with a early dot sight.
The original grips have not been changed, they are perfect.
I've shot this gun so much that I wore the anodizing off the front and rear of the grip.
I checkered the front strap 30 LPI and used aluminum black to color it.
It's not pretty with the color mismatch but it works well.
