Keep it clean and lubed, for one.

Does it seem to have a preference for ammo? I have one of the basic models and it really likes CCI.

You may also want to upgrade your extractor https://www.tandemkross.com/Eagles-T...ark_p_253.html

Sounds like it's just gummed up.

Buckmarks have a pretty delicate ejector, many people clean them without disassembly if your not careful you can damage the ejector.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

stovepipe/light strike is almost always the top strap coming loose - plumbers tape the screws fixes this, do not use loctite

the magazine falling out sounds like it isn't properly seated to begin with - it is probably just gunked up & could also be an issue with the disconnect...

I would check everything before sending off, the gun is not complicated/pretty simple to work on

It will probably come back tightened but the screw on top of the barrel above the trigger has been known to come loose.

Check it and if needed, clean and apply blue Loctite.

Edit: Bast… beat me to it. I used Loctite about 4 years ago and it still works, but Teflon tape would be easier to remove for the long run.

+1 , for loosing the screws on the top strap. BLUE Loctite or Teflon tape may fix the problem.

I thoroughly cleaned the gun. I even took it to a gunsmith who said it looks great. It has the same malfunctions no matter the ammo. From federal champion to CCI standard, mini-mag, velocitor. I sent it back to browning.

I think the idea of replacing the extractor is a good one. I shoot a lot. I go to the range to train about 3-4 times a week. The gun is only a few months old but hopefully browning will fix anything needed.

I did everything I could. I took it apart and meticulously cleaned everything. The model is a target lite 5.5” fluted barrel. If anyone has this one. I’m pretty sure I exhausted all efforts. Cleaning and gunk is not an issue here. Someone mentioned replacing the extractor so I may do that. Also, I’d never operate a gun without checking to make sure all parts are tight and somewhat clean. In this case, the pistol couldn’t have been in better shape or had any better Ammo during malfunction. Thanks again for your help.

Hopefully they can fix it without changing S/N's. Be looking at a new DROS then. Did you send it direct?

those little star washers in the top strap don't do crap - the top strap holds the firing pin assembly in place and if, rather when, they back out even just a tad (which they are prone to do even after just a few rounds) the results are pretty much everything you described with the exception of the mag falling out... but as far as I can tell there are only 3 things that could cause that, all of which start with it not being fully seated... that being said you may want to check and make sure that you didn't bend/break your ejector

That is something I never considered. Very insightful, thank you.
