The set trigger is the only change that CZ makes between the 452 and 453. The set trigger allows the shooter to have a standard trigger(at about 2 lbs.) and a target trigger(at about 10oz.) in the same system. To activate the set trigger, one simply pushes forward on the trigger until it clicks. Great system.

That sounds pretty cool. Thanks for the info!

I have a CZ 452 and am very happy with it. I researched CZ, Savage and Marlin before my purchase and I'm glad I went with the CZ. I also took the advise of another member and bought a Mueller 8.5-25x44AO tactical scope which i am also very happy with. I know a tactical scope on a 17HMR seems lame but it's very accurate and you can't beat the price of the Mueller. I was squirrel hunting with a 22lr before the CZ and the difference is absolutely amazing, it's a great combo for keeping the squirrel population in check.

I've been reading all I can about 17hmr and 17hm2 rifles and I'm definitely leaning toward the CZ.

              Hi all,

New to the forum, a long time lurker who just joined today. I have had a great interest in the .17HMR for a while. Since I just sold my Sig P226R, I had a pile of 'gun' cash that needed to be spent. So I ordered and got....for a REALLY great price...a new Anschutz 1517 MPR with SS barrel. I have wanted one for quite a long time and everything just fell into place. I'll be using it for fun..teaching the grandkids how to shoot and maybe some lightweight target competitions.

I will be able to pick it up on Monday and will post up some photos after that. After so many years as an LEO here in commie land, owning as many guns as I do and having access to the special weapons that I do....still a 10-day wait....the most stupid law ever...sorry...first post and already off-topic...

Anyway, I wanted to say hi...

              Take care,

              JJ
