    Strongly agree with this, a rifle safe is a major expense if you're wanting a rifle for under $200, and small safes are cheap. Personally this is exactly why I went with the takedown model 10/22, though it cost about $80 more.

      I have 3 Marlin Model 60's and 1 Ruger 10/22. All three Marlins were more accurate out of the box until I put another $200 into the Ruger. The Model 60 is clean looking rifle. No mags to get in the way, or forget to bring to the range. Lol. I bought all of mine on sale for $159.00 with the brown laminate stocks. They are Mayfield, KY Model 60's which some people feel are better made rifles. Who really knows?
