Put this together and took to the range yesterday. Shoots fine. Need to attach the flip up co-witness sight.

My mother always told me to be careful what you ask for.

Just one more piece of parental advice I stupidly ignored.

Just bought mine because of this tread. It was down to budget so I went 15-22. . .for $300 brand new. Yeah I'm gloating, and offering thanks because I wouldn't have found it if not for Calguns. Now I get to wait 9 days (DROS yesterday).

I had a upper i could no longer use (xm177 clone A2 upper 14.5 pinned with flash hider) and put in my clymer conversion kit. Its 100 percent and rings steel out to 100 yards sofar. The mc fadden lightning loader is the greatest creation in firearms. I went through 500 rounds+ using this and cmmg mags last weekend. Amazing fun.

I’ve been using the CMMG conversation. Works great! 1:9 twist.

I put a Leupold 3x9x33 VXFreedom scope on the AR-22. Very nice fit and super nice glass. I'm sighting it in tomorrow.

I have the same setup (minus the scope) and am extremely happy with it.

No doubt, build. Several reasons for this. You can set it up as you want it to be, not the way someone else thought you would like it. It is more fun to do it yourself. And you get the satisfaction and the experience learned in doing it yourself.

I like CMMG stuff for barrels and Bolt Groups. SW MP22 mags are the best. Add a Boonie Packer adapter for true last shot hold open capability.

You do not even have to buy all new stuff. Scour the Forums for used stuff and you can build a dream AR22 pretty cheap. That will be just as good, and likely much better than a new priced one.

I shot my new AR-22 upper yesterday and zero'ed the Leupold VX Freedom 3-9x33 scope.

That Right To Bear CMMG made $109 barrel is quite good. The converted Ceiner "conversion bolt" worked great with a $35 CMMG SS head attached.

I got very good groups at 25 yards, bullet holes on bullet holes. It also seems to not be picky about ammo like my Henry Golden Boy. I ran Federal AutoMatch (the Henry's favorite) Federal Gold Match, Winchester Super X, Agulia Hyper Maximum hollow and solid points.

AutoMatch spread a little wider than Gold Match which is pretty good. Solid hyper maximum also spread a bit. The hollow hyper maximum did very well with a quarter sized hole with 15 rounds. It really likes that stuff.

The barrel is nitride so it cleans up quickly. I can't wait to try it at 100 yards. That Leopold 3-9x33mm scope is amazing. I bought another one because it's so clear and lightweight. Only 12 oz.

Take those AR22s to a steel challenge range.
