    Big 5 Ad let down.

Big 5 just came out with an Ad for the Federal .22 Hollow point. $19.99 for 525rds, but they haven't had the ammo for weeks and still don't. Good news, they gave me a rain check.

You think thats bad. Bass Pro Shops listed Remington Golden .22 bulk packs at $16, but it sold out in the first morning of the sale. The sales guy said 2 guys from Arizona came in and bought it all.

I was just at Cabellas last weekend and they had the Federal bulk pack on sale for 16.99. They had tons of it. I didnt pick any up because I thought it was expensive. Last time I bought a bulk pack at Walmart it was 13.99 per 550

They ran out at my local Big 5 and instead of a raincheck they gave me another brand for the same price (wo we could go shoot the dirty stuff)

Big 5 has the Federal 525rd packs on order but they don't have an eta of when they will be delivered to their distibution center but they are substituting the Western by Olin 500rd pack for $18.10 and the American Eagle by Federal 400rd pack but I don't remember the substitute price on that.

I was at Big 5 last night getting some new sneakers and since I always make sure to leave the store with a bulk pack of .22 ammo I went and checked it out. They had a couple hundred round packs of various CCI (horribly overpriced) and that was it.

                      I left with rainchecks.

I have to check my Big 5 now. Just got a new .22. Only have 100rd CCI MiniMag 40s from WalMart ($6.47).

No problem finding it on three separate occasions here in Santa Cruz and in San Jose.
Out of about half a box of 550, just a few duds and maybe 20 failures to fully eject.
Noticeable difference in powder report loudness with quite a few.
                          Otherwise, pretty darn accurate!

$19.99 for the American Eagle 400 round pack. They're HP rounds. As of Friday, the Sunnyvale Big 5 had some boxes left.

Walmart is still the best deal going on ammo, IF they have it in stock. Gotta hit the store when the ammo hits the shelves. If you fart around, even for a couple hours, you're out of luck. My brother's timing was good the other day, he picked up a few 550 bulk boxes of Federal for $13.97 and a 550 box of Rem Goldens for $16.97 from the Yuba City Walmart.
Proudly nestled all snugly and warm in Hillary's basket. She even made room for my bibles and guns!
