My marlin is the absolute LAST thing I'd grab for defense in my home. In a survival situation, fine the rifle is lightweight as is the ammunition, but for home defense? Hell no.Leave a comment:

aaahhh ok sorry I misunderstood. Ninja swords dont go through walls unless you throw them

What I meant was its not gonna come out the back of a body with enough force to go through a wall.Your right on your SKS it will over penetrate but please don't underestimate the .22lr in the penetration category. It Can and will go right through drywall.

Wish you were a bit closer, I'd take one or both off your hands if you decided to sell. Any chance you would ship?I can get pics of the new one but I dont own 6 of them anymore. I just bought my 6th. I have 3 of them still but I will most likely sell one or two for $75 if anyone is interested. They are so cheap but fun to plink with. I have many guns but these are some of the cheapest and funnest to plink with.
All I have onwend combined dont add up to one of my expensive rifles by itself.Leave a comment:

Get something bigger than a .22 for self defense please...well yeah. But thats when my SKS or M38 carbine come into play. The 795 makes a great house gun though as you can fire off 6-9 accurate rounds in about 2-3 secs. Thats enough to stop a burglar. And you dont have to worry about it going through a wall or something. My SKS on the otherhand....
Back to the good ole' 795. I'll be mounting a bushnell 4x on it (again) and sighting it in with some different rings on it. I'll keep you guys updated on how these 'other' weaver rings do with it. Last time I had these on, I was trying to sight it in at 50 yards, and couldn't hit paper, because the scope was off so bad from the rings loosening up and messing up the POA, yet I didn't think about heading down to the 25yd and under range.
This time I'll be using it at a sub 25yd range to get it on paper, zeroed, then move out to 50, and I might just get it zeroed at 100 yards if I feel like it does well enough to be zeroed for that far. I have my doubts on .22 for 100 yards, but I'll find out. This should happen next Saturday, w00t!Leave a comment:

I have killed many coyotes with a .22lr so dont underestimate its killing power either.Leave a comment:

A .22 is not really a SHTF weapon of choice but it will be cheap to kill with just not as good as my .30-06.Leave a comment:
