    Best 22lr bolt rifle

Just shoot my buddy cz 455 tacticool bolt gun. So much fun. All 5 rounds touching at 30 yards. I have a ruger 10/22 and ruger rpr in 556 so I was looking at a Ruger 22 rpr. Didn't want to spend more than $600. Wanted to shoot something indoor and that really accurate. What else should I be looking at?

Does it have to be the "tacticool" version or will a regular bolt gun do? If you're good with std bolt gun, look at the CZ 455 "Training" rifle. That 25" barrel makes for some accurate shooting with .22lr. Under $350 at Buds.

I think the longest barrel length I would with, would be 20". Anyone owe Ruger rpr 22 that can provide some feedback?

Cz is the best bang for the buck as far as accuracy.

If bragging rights aren't important to you, try Savage Mk2.
Short, light, precision accurate and uses a picatinny rail for your scope du jour. Don't let the short barrel fool your either.
AcuTrigger is adjustable and very good out of the box.
          Cheap too < $300

CZ builds rimfires with barrels from 16-28 inches, and all are very accurate.

As an added bonus the 455 has interchangeable barrels for both .22 mag and .17 HMR.

++++ for CZ 455 Varmint Tacticool. if you're gonna shoot indoors, no need for a long barrel. Nice compact 16.5" barrel makes things easier in a tight indoor range. The Boyd's stock that comes with it is pretty nice too.

The Savage is suppose to be pretty nice too, but i dunno what barrel config is available for it.

Is it true a 22LR single shot bolt can also shoot 22 long and 22 short?

^^^^ pretty sure that plus any tube fed (pump, bolt, lever, semiauto).
Its the magazine fed that choke on shorter rounds.

Not sure if you've gone through these threads, but found a few on the RPR 22lr

                              hope this helps.
