Max round capacity for rimfire Ruger 10/22?

Question for anyone. Are 25 round Ruger BX (22LR/rimfire)mags legal in Cali? If you have anymore i nfo on rimfire that would be great. I would like to trick out my plain old Ruger 10/22 rifle. Thanks fellow Calgunners!

Since about Y2K you cannot buy magazines over 10 rounds in California unless a peace officer.


If you had magazines legally in California before 2000, then you can use them in featureless firearms.

As the new Ruger mags were not designed until after Y2K, you cannot have them in ca unless exempt from the law.

10 rounds is the limit.

IIRC there are 10/25 blocked mags.

Hated the triple coupler by Alangator.


Or, just get two or three of these Butler Creek 10rd magazines and lock them together.

I have a bunch of the Hot Lips magazines and they work better than my BX1's.

I've got a couple of Tri-Mags with Ruger factory dust/dirt covers that work really well. The only down side to them is when I'm hiking about with the rifle over my shoulder, the two exposed ten round mags are a little rough on my shoulder. A sling would fix that.
A few years ago you could buy legally over the counter a Ruger BX25 as a complete "parts kit" but in knock down form in a blister pack. Took about five minutes to re-build.
