For those that own the 41.... if you had to shoot a ruger 22/45 and the 41,
What would be the group size difference you could shoot at 25 yards?


Are they that much more accurate?

Yes. Very much so. But the question is...are you accurate enough to make the cost of a 41 worth it?

In my hands my Buckmark can compete with my 41 with open sights. But I presume that's my hands.

From a ranson rest, my Buckmark shoots 1" groups at only 25 yards. My Model 41 shoots 1" groups at 50 yards.

The Model 41 is more about balance, great grips, and good sights. IMHO it has proven to be America's best rimfire pistol with many national championships to it's credit. Your scores should improve. It's quite a step up from a Ruger or a Browning. If you want a better pistol you'll have to move onto one of the top European pistols, which are another step up.

So I found a brand new one at a LGS last night. Paid for it online last night.

Went to the store today and after looking at it found out that the safety lever was seized. It would not go from safety off to "on."
The sales guy had their gun smith look at it and he came back telling me that there was diffidently something wrong with the safety lever.

Gave me 2 options:
1. Dros it now and for me to contact S&W and send it to them for warranty
2. They will send it back to S&W to have them take a look at it for fix. Than they will contact me when it returns and I still get first take on it.

Funny, Riflegear states it's not for sale in CA, yet all of the stock is in Fountain Valley. Is a PC 41 different than a regular 41? $500 for a rail?

Depends on the model number listed on the gun/box. Maybe call RG for clarification?

Ugh. You had to do that to me didn't you?

I'd already decided about a month ago that instead of waiting for a Model 41 to become available, I'd instead spend the money on the Sig P210 7" when it becomes available this year.

I've been eyeing one years. Just not convinced that it's worth it.

That has been my concern too. But I recently took the plunge. Haven't shot my 41 yet we shall see.

Lame, but like mentioned find another FFL. All have their quirks and interpretations but I'm sure you can find one that will transfer the others.
