GSG 522 or Ruger 10/22?

GSG is way cooler, 1022 way more accurate and practical even without aftermarket mods

When you at the store, imagine the following: a) the GSG 522 is a fun little gun, but what you see is what you get, there is very little if any aftermarket for it, b) the entry level Ruger 10-22 is also a fun gun, but you can eventually replace the stock, barrel, trigger and scope mount. Old parts you take off can be resold on eBay, and you can customize it as your needs and budget allow. I have multiple 10-22's, but I never got around to buying that GSG....

FWIW i had a GSG 522 a few years ago and that thing was a jam-o-matic. My pop's 10/22 has been running smooth with no hiccups for decades

a gsg is cool but its always a gsg...

a 10/22 can wear different costumes....

- 10/22 is for reliability, accuracy, future modification, but it looks so normal, it's just a rifle.
- GSG 522 for THE LOOK.
If you want a rifle that looks cool, and just for fun plinking don't care about shooting accuracy, reliability .... then go for Gsg-522.
Heck, I bought MP5-22 because it looks so COOOOOOOL

Magazines are cheap and plentiful
Mods are plentiful but not all are cheap

If you want to mod it to look like something else, that's always possible, ie. HK G36 (Archangel) or PS90 (High Tower Armory).

So who makes a really good semi-auto 22lr, that doesn't need most of its parts replaced? If you start with a $200 10/22, and then put $300-400 of parts into it.

My 10/22 is ok for Appleseed and plinking... but I wouldn't call it a good rifle.

Yes, the CZ 512.

I own the .22WMR version of the carbine and love it. Will never spend hard earned money on another Ruger product.
