RNE228 and ojisan I don't plan on taking the old rear sight out of the dovetail since it folds down the new rear sight is a receiver mount. Are you talking about one for the takedown?

The Tech Sights are taller both front and rear than the original sights.
You will be replacing both sights when you go to the Techs.
Takedown or standard models are the same in this respect.
It's OK to leave the original Ruger rear sight on the barrel folded down as it will be below the line of sight with the Tech Sights.

I have the Tech Sights TSR200 on my 10/22 and like it. I must confess they took some jiggering to zero properly. At first, I needed to move the rear sight all the way to the right to get the rifle to zero laterally. I read online that this is a common problem with Tech Sights on the 10/22 because of manufacturing issues with the barrel. I reinstalled the entire rear sight assembler with a slight (basically unnoticeable) tilt to the right. Much to my surprise, it worked great because now the rifle is zero'ed at 50 yards with the aperture perfectly in the middle of the rear sight.
The aperture is a little larger than I'd like. My M1A has a much smaller aperture, and I feel I like I can focus better through it. I don't know how the TSR200's aperture size compares to the TSR100's.
Nonetheless, I've shot pretty well with these sights. I'm going to Appleseed in a couple of weeks, so I'll have more feedback then.

No Techs on a 10-22. But love the set on my Marlin. They are almost essential for us older fellas with aging eyes also. That is where they really shine.Comment
